Work flow: Lab work flow for tissue samples requires usually two days for processing and reporting of routine cases. Sometimes a case may have complexity under the microscope and require additional studies taking a few more days. Most physicians schedule follow-up between 7-14 days to account for this variable process. Pigmented lesions are critical cases, so consultation between pathologists is common.

Can take time: Pathology reports can take time as some specimens have to be stained and handled in certain ways. It is not unusual to ake a while for a biopsy report.
