Not to be concerned.: As long as the bleeding stopped it should heal just fine. The surface of the tonsil, although reasonably durable, can certainly sustain a wound with subsequent bleeding. It's nearly always self-limiting. If you get frequent Tonsiliths (stones) you might consider a tonsillectomy.

You're fine: Try a water pick instead. It's actually quite hard to injury yourself seriously when you do this.
