A member asked:

Occult blood in urine, high bp, headaches, abdominal pain, recurrent burning when urinating (couple xs a month). nephrologist on 4/27, possible causes?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Kidneys: Kidney disease can cause high blood pressure. Burning on urination requires a urine culture and colony count to diagnose a urinary tract infection. Abdominal pain is nonspecific. A kidney ultrasound is a good screening test to examine the urinary tract, but more intensive studies would include a microscopic exam of the urine, kidney CT scan, arteriogram of renal arteries(dysplasia),biopsy
