Hi i have a swollen tonsil got checked twice they said it was a virus and it will fight it self off i can hardly talk or chew my food its that painful?

Need another: opinion. A viral infection does not usually affect just one tonsil. You may have a bacterial infection or abscess. Even with a negative rapid strep (if one was done) there could be a strep or other bacterial infection. If it is getting worse, please return to your doctor and ask for a more in depth look.
