Varies with age/sex: Older men and women, > 70 yrs, at greater risk for bone fracture have the highest RDA's (recommended dietary allowances) for vitamin D: 800 IU/day. Except for infants, 600 IU daily is recommended for both men and women throughout adulthood. Fortified foods (including milk and cereal) and sun exposure provide most of this for Americans. Fatty fish (salmon, tuna) are best food sources. Good wishes:)
