Possibly: Hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid) is associated with anxiety, tremulousness, trouble sleeping. One can also have panic attacks. Hypothyroidism (low thyroid) can cause depression, which in some people also makes them anxious. However, once treated and thyoid levels are normal, the symptoms should resolve if they were related to thyroid abnormalities.
