A member asked:

Age 18,doing weight lifting, i am afraid of weights that will affect my height growth? i ain't really tall, 168 cm . what weights should i prevent?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hard to say: At 18 most have finished their linear growth (growing taller) because growth plates have fused. When this happens, you have no further growth. If you entered puberty late, and your growth plates are open, it will be visible on an x-ray of your hand. If your growth centers are open, power lifting would not be advisable, but because of possible injuries, not growth potential.
