Polycystic is: An overused term that tends to cause patients anxiety. Most "cysts" on the ovaries are normal ovarian follicles. They get called "cysts" when they get large. Even then these simple cysts are not cancerous and come and go. So, overwhelmingly there is nothing to worry about. Diabetes may be associated with polycystic ovary syndrome but this diagnosis needs hormonal and physical exam findings.
