Not likely serious: 1. For a serious spider bite, the appearance will be profound and progressive: ER. 2. Any spider or insect bite will leave a puncture wound and an area of inflammation. A) Inflamed area can spread, especially with scratching. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and hydrocortisone can help. B) Puncture site can become infected and should be monitored and kept clean. See doc if there is drainage or spreading redness!
