Yes: It's not uncommon to have some soreness after dental treatment. Obviously it depends upon what the actual treatment was. It should get better within a couple of days. It is always best to speak to the dentist who actually performed the treatment concerning what to expect and for how long afterwards.

Very common: The pain is noticed immediately after the anesthesia wears off and continues up to 72 hours. Take NSAID OTC or Tylenol (acetaminophen) for pain control. If concerned, see your dentist for post-op examination.
