Are there other options besides taking synthroid (thyroxine) that can help my hypothyroidism?

MOST DEFINITELY!!: Synthroid (thyroxine) and similar T4 meds are the most common meds prescribed, but are not necessarily the most effective for all individuals. Many people do not experience relief with T4 and need medications that contain t3, like Armour Thyroid (dessicated natural thyroid) or cytomel. Speak to a dr. Familiar with T3 treatment if synthroid (thyroxine) is not helping you.
