Can take 7-10 days: The length of time for swelling depends on the nature and severity of the trauma. Significant force can result in swelling that takes 10 days or longer to resolve. If the swelling and discomfort remains, a physician should examine the areas to look for possible nasal fractures or orbital fractures...an X-ray would be needed to evaluate these possibilities.
