What's a non drug or alcohol induced blackout called?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Lots of names for it: A sudden loss of alertness resulting in a blackout is SYNCOPE. Now, there are tons of causes such as Ed McMann knocking on your door with a $10 million check from Publisher's Clearing House. Perhaps, more for the fact that The McMannster is dead; or heart rhythm change, stroke/TIA, seizure, your favorite Rock Goddess saying YES to a date..SYNCOPE- Almost sounds like it could be a Billy Joel tune.
