Below: the problem of blackouts without alcohol or drugs induced is quite long. It is important to see your DR and have an accurate DX made. For example: low blood sugar, seizures, etc.

Imaging: They should get imaging to rule out bleed, stroke, or other cause for a seizure. They should also be evaluated for cardiac etiology of syncope. They should get a toxicology screen to rule out use of drugs. Their medication list should be evaluated as well for those that have a sedative effect and those they may have interactions. This should all be done before driving again.
