No: go back to the doctor who performed the root canal maybe a canal was missed Maybe there is a fracture maybe the canals weren't totally sealed off . Let them check and place you on antibiotics to quickly control the spread of your abscess

Very common: After the root canal treatment, you may have some swelling and certainly some pain for 24-72 hours. If swelling becomes worse or does not improve after 72 hours, call your dentist for post-op evaluation.
