Phlebitis : Recommend an doppler ultrasound in Urgent Care or ER to rule out clots (deep vein thrombosis ) Can be serious. Good luck.

Time to get going.: Although many conditions can cause painful "calfs", gradually worsening, with no history trauma, limits the options. You need to eliminate the one that can be the most serious. Get to the doctor for a test to see if you have a blood clot. This should be in do haste.
