Hard to know: Pain like this could be from multiple causes. Painful food passage through the esophagus or entering the stomach can be from narrowed esophagus (eg stricture or web), inflammation (eg herpes infection or eosinophilic esophagitis, acid etc); or inflamed stomach, gut or gall bladder. If you can literally put your finger on where it hurts, could be the chest wall (muscle). Heart prob possible also.
