Might be : It could be. Jaw pain and bite changes can be a sign of an acute TMD episode. A problem with a tooth can give the same symptoms as well. Dental pain can be difficult to localize at times. See your dentist at your earliest convenience.

See answer details: Inflammation within the TMJ can cause pain on chewing and can also change the position of the head of the joint within the socket, resulting in a change in the bite. A night guard and ibuprofen can help. If jaw opening is restricted due to muscle soreness, heat with slow gentle jaw opening can resolve this. If symptoms continue, an MRI of the TMJ should be obtained
