Infection: There is a lot of new evidence that links oral health to cardiac health. Any infection in the body is not a good thing, the body is connected so the possibility of an oral infection affecting the rest of the body is possible, including the heart. See a dentist and have the infection treated, not just with abx but by treating the cause.

Yes: Dental abscesses, especially in the lower jaw can spread. We call this cellulitis. If this is untreated, it can spread to the mediastinum, or the area of the heart, causing death.
