PCP or urgent care: If you are wheezing, the initial infection may have been due to a viral or atypical pneumonia. The latter responds well to Erythromycin or Azithromycin. Viral illnesses are not treated with antibiotics. If you are still wheezing, steroids may be needed and I would recommend follow up, particularly if the wheezing worsens or is not improving. Albuterol should be used every three hours as needed.
