Risk vs. benefit: Risk versus benefit is the axiom that guides all medical decision making. A D & E @ 16 weeks in a qualified medical professionals hands is "relatively safe". There is always a risk that the old C/S scar will be perforated at the time of the procedure and as long as it is recognized can be addressed.
