Wait and Watch: Putting in an IUD involves opening up the cervix enough to get into the uterus, and that can create a little bleeding. When you do not have your period, the cervix is completely closed, and the potential for a little bit of bleeding goes up. If all you have is one small clot of blood, and no more follows, I would not be worried. If it continues, call your doctor.
