Hi. i went to my primary doctor in october last year & my cea was 7.1 i never did anything about it. i went back again this week and my cea was 6.1 they had me come back again this morning for more lab work. is this something that i should worry about?

Don't worry: The CEA is not a diagnostic tumor marker. It can be elevated with inflammation and after smoking or taking an enema. It is best used in monitoring when on treatment it rises or comes down suggesting response or lack of response. If in your case there is a significant rise, a one time CAT scan of chest abdomen might be indicated.
