Superman: it is possible to work heavy duty with a total joint however there is a downside. The rate of wear and failure are increased. You may only get a limited amount of time before you need another bigger surgery. Most surgeons would not say you could not do it. But that you should not do it. I have patients who run marathons with tka. I do not recommend it and actively tell them they should not do it.

Heavy work: You don't have to jump , you can get out with out jumping ,if are able to do with bad knee , with new replaced knee joint it will be easy . Now question you want to go on limited or full disability probably you are entitled , your problem is real , you are not faking and discuss with your surgeon. You have a worthy reason to get it.
