A member asked:

My mother is on beta blockers for palpitations. she now sometimes feels dizziness, has sudden floaters in eyes, occasional head pain. stroke signs?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Floaters, dizziness: The beta blockers stop the bodies ability to suddenly increase the blood pressure when needed such as getting up from being seated or laying down. It takes a few moments for the nervous system to tell the arteries to increase the pressure to maintain blood flow to the brain hence the transient dizziness. The new floaters are probably from a vitreous detachment in the affected eye. normal issue.
