My 2 year old started with a fever yesterday afternoon. No other symptoms aside from fever, being cold and sensitive body/skin.. the ear thermometer says 36.5, under the arm thermometer says 38.5... not sure if the ear one is broken ?
Why is it i get 2 different readings in each ear when i take my temp with a ear thermometer. One says fever the other doesnt. ?

My right ear is bright red & hot. My forehead thermometer says 97.9 on my forehead, 97.9 left earlobe, and 102.2 right earlobe. Oral temp 98.4. Do I have a fever of 102.2?? If not why would 1 ear be burning and red? Very stressed over COVID-19!
What range is considered fever using the ear thermometer in a 1 year old? Is it true that 102 is low grade and only 104 higher is urgent?
