A member asked:

Sometimes my 4 yo curls his toes under when he walks. is that normal?

May be compensating: It can be normal because curling his toes when he walks somewhat stabilizes his gait. But if he has a deformity, i.e. flatfoot or bow legged, he may be compensating. A full lower extremity exam can determine why he curls his toes, which in turn can be addressed with proper shoes and/or inserts.
