Coffee/UTI: Patients with UTI are often asked to avoid caffeine, including coffee. Coffee cannot cause a urinary tract infection, but it can intensify symptoms. Caffeine in coffee can irritate the bladder and increase bacterial adherence to the lining of he bladder. Caffeine can also increase the urge to urinate. As a result, some may experience more burning and pain on urination.

Not likely: Coffee is not known to cause UTI. UTi are infections caused by bacteria. Urinary frequency, a symptoms of UTI can be increased by coffee, because of the diuretic effect of caffeine in the coffee. Sexual activity on the other hand can be associated with UTI. If you have symptoms of an infection, see your physician.

Low immunity: Lowered immunity can cause frequent UTIs. Taking a zinc supplement 25-50 mg/day (Now) and a good probiotic daily might help solve the problem since they both boost immunity. Caffeine is a bladder irritant and can sometimes cause UTI like symptoms without causing any infection. This condition is called interstitial cystitis (IC). Both supplements help IC too. Take vitamin D3 10k IU/day (Now) too.
