DUB: It sounds like your doctor diagnosed dysfunctional uterine bleeding (DUB) which often results from hormonal imbalances during menstrual cycle. Checking for pregnancy, which was done, is very important. DUB is treated by trying to regulate the hormones, & I suspect he gave you an injection of a progestin. You may need to consider an IUD or birth control pills for ongoing regulation of hormones.
