No: It's still simplistic, but the real problem is that all LDL's stick to vessel walls but oxidized LDL isn't processed properly and ends up in atheromas. The whole business is so complicated that even being a pathologist, I can't keep track of it. The bottom line is that antioxidants don't seen ti prevent atherosclerosis but avoiding smoking does and one mechanism is by oxidizing LDL
