How long can a stent be left in after a lithotripsy?

Specializes in Radiology - Interventional

Depends.: Depending on the amount of stone debris you have in your kidney's urine collecting system (called the renal calyces and the renal pelvis) and the ureter. Your Urologist may take the stent out in a few days to a few weeks. The stents have to be changed periodically, so they don't become blocked.
