Depends on what: If you're talking about water, 1cc = 1g. If you're talking about any other substance you have to know how dense it is to calculate its weight given the volume. Since you're asking about doses you're probably not talking about water. What medicine do you have 40L of? The medicine probably would say how many mg/ml or some info like that. You should ask again with more information.
