Yes. It is not : Unusual to be on an ssri and a tricyclic at the same time. For safety reasons, however, i would get an ekg checked while on the combo to make sure that there are no potential cardiac changes and a Doxepin level can be drawn to make sure that it is in the therapeutic range. Yes: Both are low doses of antidepressants with complementary modes of action. In rare cases there can be cardiac irregularities that an ekg would be helpful with.
