They're common...: But I have many patients who do not have a single restoration or missing tooth, and they range in age from their teens to the seventies. I also have patients who have lost their teeth early on and are wearing dentures in their early forties. Many factors go into the equation, including diet, oral hygiene habits, medications, genetics, and environment.
