OK to take: Animal studies suggest that ranitidine may potentiate the hepatotoxicity of acetaminophen. However, a double blind placebo controlled study has failed to confirm this. Ref: Drugs.com. This combination is ok for you to take.

If the doc approved: It depends on the diagnosis and your overall health status. The combination could be used only after proper evaluation and continuing monitoring by a licensed provider. Also the daily Acetaminophen dose must not exceed recommended amount to avoid adverse effect. Liver function should be checked before and during treatment.
