Usually okay.: The effectiveness of medication depends on a lot of factors, including what other meds or supplements you are taking, timing, and whether or not they should be taking with food. Taking meds with an antacid (like Tums (calcium carbonate) or mylanta) is not a good idea and it can affect absorption. Alcohol affects med use too. Talk to your doc or pharmacist about the best way to take meds.
