A member asked:

Can taking too much advil (ibuprofen) have an effect on bone healing after a fracture?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: There is evidence that ibuprofen can slow bone healing. Sometimes, I will let patients use Advil if it is effective for pain relief because it sometimes works better than narcotics. Unfortunately, many treatment options have unwanted side effects. Don't use tobacco products because they are far worse on bone healing.
