Allergic rhinitis: This is a common medicine for patients with allergies. It will work for other problems, like non-allergic rhinitis or even vasomotor rhinitis. It is a great drum.

Won't hurt: It won't hurt but won't help either with a common cold. However if you do discontinue it during a cold then resume it after recovery, do realize that it will take several days of use before nasacort (triamcinolone) can provide optimal benefits.

A 23-year-old female asked:
Is Nasacort (triamcinolone) safe for long-term use?
2 doctor answers • 2 doctors weighed in

Dr. David Lipkin answered
Internal Medicine 52 years experience
Probably, but:: Nasacort (triamcinolone) is safe for periodic usage, however patients with chronic rhinitis who might use it for long periods should be advised to use them only intermittently and at the lowest dose that controls their symptoms because it can cause irritation of the nose with nosebleeds and rarely can cause Candida infections of the nose and throat. At high doses suppression of the immune system is possible.
