A member asked:

Is using metformin in polycystic ovarian syndrome considered safe?

Metformin: Metformin is often used as an adjunctive treatment to some other type of ovulation inducing agent in pcos. Studies have shown that metformin, used alone, does not increase your chance of getting pregnant. Still, it may be helpful in some patients when used in conjunction with other treatment medications.

Yes: It is best used only to treat the diabetes that may accompany pcos. If you are not diabetic you do not need it and it will not help the pcos.
