Avoid antabuse (disulfiram): Alcohol intoxication, Epileptic seizures, severe Cardio vascular disorders, liver or kidney inflammation, low thyroid, Diabetes, severe mental illness with loss of reality. Also, poorly compliant patients in detox who continue drinking.

Disulfiram: Disulfiram contraindications: Use of metronidazole, paraldehye, or susbstances containing alcohol, psychosis, coronary artery occlusion, severe myocardial dz, hypersensitivity to disulfiram or thiruam derivatives (in pesticides or rubber vulcanization).
