Not any time soon: There's some genetic work to diagnose and even treat genetic disease before implantation. During the 1990's, identity group politics led to demands to create deaf babies; this is now illegal in most places. Any "genetic enhancements" in the future will come with outweighing disadvantages (if not, they'd be wild-type). Why not have a child who's most like you and the person you love?
