Depends: the answer is different depending on "last for - - what". officially, it can be taken once a day. I have patients taking every other day. At the same time, if you take a small dose, it might not last for the whole day and patients are taking twice a day. LONG: Do you mean after just one dose? Then several hours to days so you do not want any opiates in that time frame. Great treatment for opioid addiction. Also depends on is it oral or injection or patch.
