Depends: Many addiction experts would say that the length of withdrawal symptoms is correlated to the total length of opioid dependence multiplied to some extent by the strength of the opioids abused. There are unknown coefficients in the equation but that is a rule of thumb. For some people who have very severe dependency it can last months although for less severe dependency possibly weeks to even days!
