A member asked:

Can pneumonia from years earlier caused by decompensated heart failure turn into chronic heart failure later on?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Congestive failure: Pneumonia causes heart failure decompensation in people who have heart failure already, it doesn't cause it anew usually. That is most of those people already have chronic compensated heart failure if they decompensate with pneumonia.
