Meconium aspiration: babies born through meconium stained amniotic fluid are at risk of aspiration. meconium can cause blockage of airway and inflammation of lung tissue. Babies with meconium aspiration frequently show sings of breathing difficulties and need to be admitted to Neonatal ICU for support and observation.
