No: Diuretics do not reduce the effectiveness of pain medications. However, prolonged use of NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory meds such as ibuprofen, Advil, Aleve, (naproxen) etc) and diuretics need careful monitoring of kidney function as they can cause acute kidney injury.
