A member asked:

How does hearing loss affect someone's overall emotional health?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It tends to raise: anxiety and frustration as social interactions become increasingly circumscribed. Hearing people become irritated and start saying less to those who cannot easily hear. Restaurant choices narrow to those with less ambient noise. All of this has a negative effect on emotional health. Try a support group for the hearing-impaired to get lots of suggestions.
