My baby seems to be sleeping peacefully but he just suddenly cries as if in pain. can it be because he is taking erythromycin? he is 5 months old.

Not enough info: Erythromycin won't typically make a child scream in pain, or cry out while sleeping. So on the surface, no. However, it's odd for a 5 month old to be taking erythromycin unless it's the eye ointment. If there are other issues going on necessitating erythromycin treatment, that might cause issue, and an evaluation by your doc is in order.
