Can there be a way to deal/cure post traumatic stress disorder myself?

Yes: If memories and experiences of the trauma are not interfering with your relationships, work or sense of well-being then maybe you don't need therapy or medications. But i would consider therapy as someone trained joining with you to help you heal and grow.

Maybe: I agree with dr. Berman. However, if ptsd is moderate to severe - you are much more likely to improve with treatments that are specific for ptsd. Remember that the longer you put off tx if ptsd is severe, the more ingrained the disorder becomes & the more recalcitrant to treatment.
