No, but: No but pain in one area can cause referred pain in the region. The parotid gland is right in front of the joint.

Rheumatoid arthritis: RA disease activity is associated with hyposalivation and TMJ dysfunction. The jaw joint inflammation and parotid gland dysfunction in RA-patients has been demonstrated in a few studies.
